• Papers/Posters

Final selections of papers and poster presentations have been made, authors have been notified, and scheduling has been completed for most of the ISSW activities. Keep checking back for further details however as significant changes could occur or events may still be added to the schedule. For detailed information on the paper and posters presentations you can access all the abstracts and scheduling by clicking on the following link:
Unless otherwise noted, all events will be held at the Denaina Convention Center, located on 7th Avenue between “F” and “G” streets in downtown Anchorage, Alaska.
    CRST Special Issue
ISSW 2012 authors may also wish to consider submitting a paper for a special issue of Cold Regions Science and Technology (CRST). Papers submitted to CRST must be different from those published in the ISSW Proceedings and compared to the short ISSW paper, more precise language may be required. They typically contain expanded technical information, additional details of methods and a more complete description of results. These papers will undergo rigorous peer review. Guest editors include: Peter Gauer, Jordy Hendrikx, Bruce Jamieson, HP Marshall, Mohamed Naaim, Jürg Schweizer and Alec van Herwijnen.

The formatting guidelines are different, see this webpage for details. Submission deadline is 2 November 2012. All manuscripts should be submitted online through Elsevier Editorial System (EES), which can be accessed here.

Please make sure you select 'ISSW12_Anchorage' when you reach the "Article Type" step in the submission process.
    Paper Required for Proceedings
All authors of accepted abstracts are required to submit a full paper of 2 - 7 pages whether they are accepted for an oral presentation or a poster. The increased flexibility on paper length should accommodate those who are doing modest poster presentations as well as those who prefer to publish an abbreviated paper in advance of submitting to a peer reviewed publication. Papers are not due until August 2012, and will be published in a Proceedings Volume distributed at the meeting. Preparation and paper submission instructions will be provided by email to accepted authors.
    Poster Specifications and Presentation
One of our goals is to provide poster presenters with as much exposure as possible during the upcoming ISSW 2012 conference. All of the posters will be on display during the entire conference (Sun-Fri).

The display areas of our posters boards are 4 ft high (122 cm) by 8 feet (244 cm) wide which will allow plenty of room for your poster and for people to gather around your poster. The maximum dimensions of your poster should not exceed these dimensions or they will not fit on the display boards. If you have any additional needs, such as power supply for your poster presentation, please let the Poster Chair know via e-mail (bromberg@issw2012.com) by no later than July 25, 2012.

NOTE: Providing power to the poster display area in the convention center is fairly expensive and difficult, so we prefer that posters presentations do not have power needs if at all possible.

Presenting your Poster At the Conference
During the conference, we have several poster sessions where we will ask authors to be stationed at their poster to answer any questions from attendees. The date and times when poster presenters are asked to be present at their poster is noted on the ISSW Abstract page at http://www.isswabstracts.com/schedule.php. Under “Presentation Format”: select “Poster” and then note the date/time of your poster presentation within a topic heading.
If you require assistance or have submission questions please the email the abstract manager at issw@scolars.com
